A new and current campaign set in 1086AD, using resources from the Maelstrom Doomsday game, but also my own system and mixing in stories from elsewhere.
The players are a group of investigators and troubleshooters, who have been named rather grandly the Seekers of the Truth. Their patron is Count Robert of Mortain, an important Norman Lord who owns some land in York.
Count Robert's man in York, Nigel de Monneuile, is their immediate boss and the one who sends them out on missions. Their usual job is to go somewhere, where the local inhabitants are claming some sort of supernatural, magical event has happened and to uncover the truth.
Most of the time, it is just uneducated peasants being overly superstituous about nothing. Occasionally, though, they find something more sinister and have to deal with it.
A Norman from a noble family, who has travelled far from the South to search for his missing sister.
A former student of Druidism and mysticism, now using his knowledge to investigate supernatural happenings.
A female hunter and tracker, who knows the lands around York well. She is good with a bow too.
A monk and holy man, raised by the Church and educated.
