John Dunn is in his shop, Insight Security, in London, which is across a square from the Temco Building, a tall office building with a lots of glass windows. He suddenly gets a strange feeling, like something walked over his grave. The source is the Temco building.
Peter Valentine is in his flat, which looks out on the Temco building. He too gets a funny feeling. He researches the building and discovers it is the Temco UK Head Office.
Peter decides to do some divination. He sees the collapse of order and the death of the King. That which is trapped is freed. Horsemen? Apocalypse? He sees a mirror and the Temco building is sucked through the mirror.
John leaves his shop and walks over to the Temco building. He attempts to do Object Reading on the wall, but before he can something tries to grab hold of him. He sees a face in torment on the side of building. He decides not to touch the wall.
Peter decides to investigate the Temco building in person too. He sees John, but does not know who he is. They both suspect though that the other has also sensed something is wrong at Temco.
They both head for the nearby Yates bar and strike up an awkward conversation. Then Peter's friend Tracey walks in and they begin to chat. She thought there was something odd about the Temco building too.
Over the course of a few minutes, dark clouds roll in. The wind picks up and suddenly lightning strikes the Temco building. John, Peter and Tracey see a large, ghostly, anguished face of a man crying silently for help from the glass front of the building. The man's arm reaches out and he seems to touch Tracey.
Tracey announces she wants to go the building to save the man. John and Peter agree to go with her. They walk over, but the doors are closed and will only open with a pass. There is no sign of anyone in the reception area.
Tracey touches the wall of the building and her hand gets stuck. She can't pull it free. Her hand is quickly being sucked into the wall. Despite John and Peter's help, her arm and then the whole of her body is sucked into the wall. She is gone.
John reveals that his company makes the security passes for Temco. They head to his shop and he arranges to print a new pass for the building. Using this pass, they are able to open the doors and enter the Temco building.
The reception area is empty. They head through a door into a telephone call centre, but all the desks are empty. Drinks are left unfinished. Computer screens remain logged in.
They hear something and find a girl hiding under one of the desks. She babbles about people being sucked into the walls. They are all gone. She survived by not touching the walls.
Suddenly a monstrous figure emerges from one of the walls. It appears to be humanoid, but their body is bloated and large pieces of masonry seem to have grafted into its body. It sees them and heads over.
They run and it chases them. The girl runs in a different direction. John and Peter dash into a lift and go up, stopping at level 10, but collapsed masonry blocks the entrance to level 10. Instead they direct the lift down to the basement.
They find another survivor, Shelton. He sits at a computer and seems frightened by events, but not in the way he should be. He tells them the Terror machine is destroyed, a new power is rising. John shoots the computer.
Shelton then calls in more masonry monsters from the walls. John and Peter run into a massive underground room with a fake stone circle set up. There is a lot of electrical equiment in there, but it appears to have been damaged. The only exit is where they came in. Shelton follows them with the monsters. He welcomes them to the Terror Room.
In the room is also a girl, Marie, but she is possessed. Shelton asks them to join the new order, but they refuse. Unable to escape, John and Peter are grabbed by the masonry monsters and their faces are pushed into the walls. Screaming in horror, they are sucked through.
