Banquo is the bastard-son of Gordon Baird, the last true-blooded Laird of the Baird clan. Gordon mysteriously disappeared a few years ago, after heading out alone. He was never found and the Clan was left leaderless with a succession crisis. The Baird clan was taken over by distant relatives, with Liddell Baird-MacGregors taking over leadership.
Banquo was looked after by his father until his death, but when Liddell took over, Banquo realised his life was at risk. Banquo decided to join the Guardians, a Knightly order who enforce the Mhor's Law in Mhoried. He also left his family home and went to live with his friend Sam of the Allardice clan.
The Clan Baird honour personal martial prowess and Banquo has taken this to heart, becoming a skilled warrior, but lacking many other skills. Banquo is brave and loyal, but not that intelligent.

Logan is the younger brother of Dougal MacRuaidhri, leader of the Clan MacRuaidhri. He is married to Isobel, a beautiful woman who stole his heart. They have a young son, Manas, who is four years old. Their relationship is strained, as her begaviour changed a lot after the birth of their son.
Logan is a well-liked within his clan for his sense of duty and justice. Some think he would make a better leader than his cautious older brother, but Logan does not entertain such talk. He follows the ways of Erik and has been trained in the Druidic Lore. He respects animals and nature, but also has a reputation as a ladies man.

Malcolm is the younger brother of Connaugh Laphroaig, leader of the Laphroaig Clan. Like many in his clan, Malcolm has a slightly fickel nature. He enjoys singing and playing music, which would be frowned upon in other clans, as well as hunting and archery.
He has some of the charm and luck of the Laphroaig clan. He is currently engaged to be married.

Sam is the younger brother of Cormac Allardice, leader of the Allardice Clan. He is quite intelligent and well educated, a rarity in his clan. He is the odd one out in his clan, being quiet, thoughtful and level headed, compared to the more boisterous reputation of his clan.
Sam is currently single and considered an eligable bachelor. He has learnt the ways of Magic, though he keeps this quiet, but he is not much of a warrior.

Rowan is a farm hand that the Companions resuced from Goblin raiders in the Five Peaks. He is very strong and fit, but not very experienced, intelligent or educated. Banquo has begun to train him as his Squire.

Spiritual advisor to Olivia Allardice. Teacher to Gordon Allardice. Originally based in a Monastry in Marloer's Gap.
The Companions suspected him of being behind Gordon Allardice's murder of Nairne MacRhuaid, but had no proof. They took him with them into the Five Peaks because he had been to Greenest before. They left him in Greenest to look after the servant Baldrick and Fraser MacRuaidhri, who were both badly injured.

Traits: Ambitious. Gregarious. Handsome. Vengeful.
Fraser is the son of the current Laird's father's brother, Douglas. He is well liked amongst the Clan and is talented. It is widely said that he hates Clan Allardice, who killed his father and his older brother.
He was very angry and restless after the death of Nairne MacRuaidhri and had to be locked up. Logan decided to bring him with them to the Five Peaks, as he is a good swordsman and the mission would give him something else to focus on. Fraser was badly injured in the fight with Blair Allardice's men and left behind in Greenest in the care of Brother Gregory.

Eóghan is a cousin and bannerman to Laird Dougal MacRuaidhri. He is in his 40s and has a lot of experience and knowledge. He has a strong sense of duty to his clan and loyalty to Laird Dougal, though he has a very traditional mindset and respect for authority.
Eoghan was injured in the fight with Blair Allardice's men in Greenest. He was left behind to manage affairs there on behalf of the MacRuaidhri and work with the new Village Leader, Tomas.

Baldrick was taken by Logan to the Five Peaks to help with menial tasks. He got involved in the fight with Blair Allardice's men and was badly wounded. He was left behind in Greenest under the care of Brother Gregory.

Lachlann is jovial and outgoing, with a dry wit. He has been known to poke fun at the clan and its members, but is known to be fiercely loyal, especially in battle. He does have an impulsive and mischievous nature that can lead him into trouble.
Lochlann was killed in the fight with Blair Allardice's men in Greenest.

Ruairí is young and enthusiastic to prove himself within the MacRuaidhri clan. He wants earn the respect of his kinsmen and does whatever he is told to the best of his ability. He is somewhat inexperienced and naive and has been the butt of a few jokes in his time.
Ruairí was killed in the fight with Blair Allardice's men in Greenest.

Was originally a villager who had defied the Cult of the Dragon and was being left to die.
The Companions rescued Tomas and helped him save his family. He supported them in getting the villager of Greenest to turn on the Cult of the Dragon and drive them out. They made him Head Man of the Village and left him in charge, to work with Eoghan MacRuaidhri.
Monk of Haelyn
Missionary of Haelyn to Greenest
Traits: Friendly. Humble.
Based in Greenest, tasked with converting the locals to Haelyn. Helped the Companions find out more about the situation in Greenest. Also told them of his meeting with Prince Edmund of Celiere and that he had him and his men dress as pilgrims in grey robes on their journey to Fontainmere Abbey.

Traits: Arrogant. Suspicious.
Tasked with command of the Allardice garrison in Greenest in the Five Peaks. It is widely known amongst the Allardice clan that he was sent because Cormac does not like him.
Very influence by Gulnar, he turned on the Companions and tried to have his men kill them. He was killed in the ensuing fight.

Sorcerer of the Dragon Cult
Traits: Secretive. Quiet.
Strange looking bald man with powerful eyes, has mystical tattoos, could be a sorcerer. Brother William said he was not trusted by the MacRuaidhri Clan but when the Allardice came to Greenest he wormed his way into being Blair's main advisor. Appears to be able to cause fear with his eyes, according to Brother William.
Persuaded Blair Allardice to try to kill the Companions. Was killed in the ensuing fight.
The group who kidnapped Prince Edmund from Fontainmere Abbey.
Leader of the Lost Company. Possible former soldier / knight. Cool under pressure and strong negotiating skills.
Deputy Leader of the Company. Killed in the Abandoned Keep by the Companions.

The Companions first met Edmund when he was a guest at the Wedding of Cormac Allardice and Nairne MacRuaidhri. He was on his way to a prilgrimage to the mountains of the Five Peaks. When Gordon Allardice stole his horse, he accompanied the Companions to Highpoint Keep, but he was not very experienced in fighting.
After the Wedding, he resumed his pilgrimage to the Five Peaks. A month later, Lord Chancellor of Hollend of Cariere visits the Companions, saying Edmund's father has been killed in suspicious circumstances and asks them to find the Prince. The Companions discover the Prince was kipnapped at Fontainmere Abbey by the Lost Company. They pursue the Company to an Abandoned Keep and are forced to pay a large random for the Prince's release.
Lord Chancellor of Cariele
Chancellor Hollend visited Medenie following the death of Baron Halfred of Cariele. He was desperate to find Prince Edmund, who had passed through Torien's Watch and attended the Allardice / MacRuaidhri wedding, on his way to a pilgrimage to the Five Peaks. Hollend knew from a letter from the Prince that they had befriended him and his asked them to find him. His Uncle, Lord Edrin, was agitating to take the Throne, claiming the Prince had disappeared.
After the Companions found the Prince, they snuck into Caerlinien, capital of Cariele, and contacted the Chancellor, to arrange for a ransome to be paid to the Lost Company to hand over the Prince.

Uncle of Edmund Galandil
Lord Edrin attempted to be declared Regent by the Royal Council of Cariele, after the death of Baron Halfred Galandil. Lord Chancellor Hollend resisted this and got the Companions to find the real heir.
Edrin and some of his soldiers tried to stop the Companions getting the ransome money to the Lost Company, but they were able to defeat his men and rescue Edmund. Once he was recognised at the Royal Castle, Baron Edmund had Edrin arrested.

The Mhor of Mhoried
Official title Arch Duke of Mhoried
Lead the army into a disasterous war against Ghoere four years ago. A lot of of his authority was damaged during that campaign and he has never recovered from it. He continues to rule, but the Clans of Mhoried pay less and less attention to him and do what they want.

A sounther, originally from Diemed. Raised to the position of County Minister through hard work and schrewd advice.
Second son of the Mhor, Archibald Mhoried
Attended the wedding of Cormac Allardice and Nairne MacRhuaidhri on behalf of his father, the Mhor. He left during the wedding feast though, having said and done very little.
Knight Commander of the Guardians in Torien's Watch
Sir Simon is a member of the Torien's Watch County Council. He is also Squire Banquo FitzBaird's patron as a member of the Guardians.
Elderman of the Church of Erik. He presided at the wedding between Cormac Allardice and Nairne MacRuaidhri, which was a joint ceremony with Haelyn.
