The Clans of Torien's Watch

Details of the Clans that live in Torien's Watch, which the Player Characters are members of.

The Clans

Clans dominate Mhoried society and there are several who own lands in Torien's Watch.

Clan Resources

The resources of each clan are listed below, determined using the Character Generation rules, with extra points for the Torien Clan because they are the ruling clan. Despite that, Torien is not as dominant as you would expect.

A potential challenger to Clan Torien is the Allardice Clan, but they are unpopular with the rest of the clans and Torien has more Military. Another is the Baird Clan, based on their Military, but they lack support and other resources such as Wealth to use that power to control the province.

Some Rules of Thumb

Influence - if there was a Senate that represented the province, this would be the number of votes each clan could rely on in that Senate.

Military - multiply by 10 to get the number of men at arms your clan can muster quickly.

People - multiply by 500 to get the number of people living in your lands. This number is affected by the overall development level of the province.

Clan Defence Influence Land Law Military People Wealth
Torien 25 43 26 18 35 24 32
Allardice 11 38 31 6 27 21 23
Baird 20 29 19 10 39 17 19
Laphroaig 20 16 27 18 17 24 29
MacRuaidhri 29 16 16 36 12 15 24

MacRuaidhri Clan

Background

Currently the smallest clan, having suffered a defeat recently at the hands of the Allardice Clan. They have a reputation for looking after their lands and people.
