08/04/2018 – Steinhager’s House (19)

Gerhart rushes down stairs and tells everyone else.

They discuss what to do. Joanna thinks Teugen now knows where they are, but Xavious wonders if it is because they have captured one of their number. He suggests releasing him.

He gets Frau Bluecher to throw the vagrant out. A taller, black haired vagrant emerges from the crowd and stands over the vagrant they captured then they leave together.

Xavious says that must be the leader of the vagrants and it would be worth capturing him.

They discuss how to do this and also the need to drive the vagrants out of the city.

Adolphus and Joanna start making a demon trap in the front hall of the house.

Father Xavious goes to the church to get more holy water. He is away for a while. Hamish brings him back unconscious. Leon uses smelling salts to bring him around. He is a little confused, he has had a vision. There is darkness coming. The vagrants cannot be killed, that will not help them.

Instead, they must be baptised with holy water to cleanse the darkness that has infested them.

Xavious has Hamish capture a vagrant. Take to church. Baptise him and he is “cured”. Verger to look after him.

Xavious is tired and proposes in the morning they try to baptise the vagrant leader.

Gerhart goes for Bart, but in a confusion does not bring him back so Xavious sends him again. They are surrounded by vagrants and the leader tells them the prince of darkness is coming. Hamish and Gerhart are transfixed by an image of the Prince of Darkness in the sky. Bart gets them out by snapping Hamish out of hit.

Bart draws the vagrants off to the guard house while the others escape. They guards tell the vagrants to disperse, but they won’t. They shoot one and injure others, but are driven back into the guard house.

They ring the bell but by the time the Guard Captain arrives, the vagrants have gone and taken their dead / wounded with them.

Bart returns to the house and tells them what happened. They go to bed.

Saturday, 29 April 1702

Xavious sends Frau Bleucher to get the Doctor for Master Steinhager. Bart follows in disguise.

Xavious, Hamish, Leon and Gerhart go to get the Vagrant leader. The encounter is difficult.

They finally get him to the church and baptise him, but they are knocked out in the process.
